ON STUDY OF English

In a sense, English is our bridge connecting peoples of the world. The development of a person, a business, even a nation cannot be achieved without communications with the outside world. Since English is most universally used language in various international exchanges, without it we’ll be isolated from international community.

However, the command of English is a time-consuming process. First, a workable stock of vocabulary requires several thousand words and expressions, which takes years to develop.

Second, the improvement of the oral and listening competence seems disappointing to learners.

Third and most discouraging of all is, the phrase which is made up of familiar words goes quite beyond one’s comprehension.

Despite all difficulties, I shall be bent on practising as I believe in the saying: “Practice makes perfect”
